Yvonne Kay Whitaker

81 year old, Yvonne Kay Whitaker, of Wheatfield, passed away September 20, 2022.

Yvonne was born on July 18, 1941, to Robert S. and Lenos (Gwinn) Stansberry, in Neva Tennessee. Yvonne married the love of her life: Wallace ‘Booten’ Whitaker on October 11, 1958, in Silver Lake, Indiana. She worked at Wheatfield Elementary School, in the special education department for 20 + years. She liked to crochet. Yvonne also like to garden.

Yvonne is survived by her loving family: husband: ‘Booten’, children: Randy Whitaker, Brenda Whitaker, Kevin Whitaker, and Ryan (Gretchen) Whitaker, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Betty Garling, Mack Stansberry, and Linda Craft.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: IV, LeRoy, Jack & Robert, sisters: Ruth, Julie ‘Judy’, Martha, Marlin, and Carolyn.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Yvonne will take place at the funeral home, on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Interment will follow at the Wheatfield Cemetery.

Per Yvonne’s wishes cremation will take place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church Pavilion Fund.
