Virginia Bobbit

93 year old, Virginia Bobbitt, of Crown Point, passed away October 30, 2010.

On June 7, 1917, Virginia was born to Albert and Gertrude (nee: Wagner) Parker.

Virginia married Everett Henry Friend in November of 1934, and then married Fred Bobbitt on February 21, 1966. Virginia was a cashier for Handy Andy. She attended the Living Hope Church of Merrillville. Virginia was also a Sunday School Teacher and musician for many years.

Virginia is survived by her children: John E. (Betty) Friend, and Cecillia Sue (Charles ‘Chops’) Conley, daughter-in-law: Lynnett Friend, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husbands: Everette H. Friend, and Fred Bobbitt, parents, Albert & Gertrude Parker, son: Michael G. Friend, sister: Helen Fennel, and brother: John Staton Parker.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on November 2, 2010, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Living Hope Church, 9000 Taft St., Merrillville, Indiana.

Services will take place at the church at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Doug Sheehy officiating.

Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m. November 3, 2010 in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
