Mrs. Thelma Beatrice Wantola, 76, of Wheatfield, passed away on Saturday, January 12th, 2008, at her home with her loving family around her.

 

Thelma Beatrice was born on September 15, 1931, the daughter of the late Leslie and Hazel (Earhart) Fritz in Winamac, Indiana.  On July 28, 1950, she married Walter “Toby” Wantola.

 

Thelma worked at Schumacher Electric for 24 years where she worked in the quality control division. Thelma and Toby were dealers of Beck’s Hybrids seeds for 28 years. She was a member of the Kniman United Methodist Church. Thelma enjoyed gardening, cooking, talking with anyone, and spending time with family and friends.

 

Thelma is survived by her loving husband Toby, two daughters, Donna (Terry) Terborg - Hershman, Joyce (Edward) Roehm, a son, Dennis (Rhonda) Wantola, grandchildren: Jill, Andrew (Corrie), Jeffrey, Donald, Kelley, Alyssa, Christian, great-grandson Isaac. Brother, Clifford (Phyllis) Fritz, Sister-in-laws: Doris Fritz, Lorna Miller, Emily Elder, and Brother-in-law: Leo (Vera) Wantola, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

 

Thelma was preceded in death by her loving parents: Leslie and Hazel Fritz, 3 brothers: Harold, Louis & Robert Fritz, and son-in-law: John C. Terborg.

 

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. (CST) at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield.

 

Services for Thelma will be held at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, at 10:00 a.m. (CST) on Wednesday, January 16th, with Rev. Al Smith officiating. Interment will take place at the White Post Cemetery in Medaryville.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kniman United Methodist or Jasper County Hospice.

           

Thelma’s family wishes to express thanks to DeMotte Physicians, Dr. Mirro, Dr. Drasga and the HOPE staff, and Jasper County Home Hospice for excellent care received during her short illness, as well as, the Kniman United Methodist Church for their friendship and kindness.
