85 year old, Thelma A. Knip of DeMotte, passed away October 3, 2012 on her birthday.
On October 3, 1927, Thelma was born in Chicago, Illinois to John & Frances (nee: Miller) DeFries. Thelma graduated from Wheatfield High School and attended 2 years of college. She worked in the health care industry. She was a member of the Community Bible Church, was affiliated with Jasper/Porter Child Evangelism Fellowship, and was a Sunday School Teacher.
Thelma is survived by her children: Alan R. Knip, Ruth Ann (Bud) Koeppen, Marty (Ruth) Knip, and Kenny (Wanda) Knip, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and brother Herbert DeFries.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother: Ann, sister: Charmaine Jonkman, and brother: Jerry DeFries,.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Community Bible Church of DeMotte. Services for Thelma will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday with Pastor Rodney Tolleson officiating. Interment will take place at the Holland Cemetery in DeMotte.
Memorials may be made to: Jasper/Porter Child Evangelism Fellowship or the Community Bible Church.
