Steve Tanchala

Mr. Steve Tanchala, of Wheatfield passed away, Monday May 21, 2007, at VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso, IN.

Mr. Tanchala was born in Hammond, IN on October 9, 1920, the son of the late Sam and Mary Tanchala.

Steve was a still operator for the Lever Bros. of Hammond Indiana.

Steve served our country in WW II as a Radio Operator with the U.S. Army Air Corp

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Josephine  (Korniak) Tanchala.

Step Daughter(s):  Kathy (David)  Bierma

Step Son(s):  Paul (Renetta)  Pavot, William (Pam)  Pavot,

and 7 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 from 3-8 PM with a  3:30 PM Rosary, and 7:00 PM American Legion Service, and a 7:30 PM Holy Name Society Service at the Boersma Funeral Home  90 east Grove St. Wheatfield, IN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church Wheatfield, on Thursday May 24, 2007 at 10:00 AM with Father Paternoster officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the VNA Hospice Center of Valparaiso.
