Sophie Ulana

59 year old, Sophie Ulana, of Rensselaer, passed away November 28, 2022.

On December 19, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, Sophia was born to George S. and Mary E. (Lawrence) Snihurowycz. She graduated from Kankakee Valley School Corporation in 1981. She was a credentialing specialist. Sophie worked for Franciscan Health – Jasper County Hospital for 27 years. She enjoyed crafting – making birthday cards, holiday cards and scrapbooking. Sophie loved spending time with her grandkids, and her dog, Roxee. She really enjoyed helping the homeless or anyone in need. She loved to watch football and anything to do with Wabash College. Sophia like to do interior decorating.

Sophie is survived by her children: Mary Jo (Scott) Gilbert, Aaron Frederick, Addrian (Lindsay) Frederick, grandchildren: Noah Bierma, Koleton Frederick, Karter Frederick, Alena Niau, Treasure Gilbert, Jaylen Gilbert, and great-great-granddaughter: Emberlynn Gilbert, siblings: Andrea Renada, Irene Conley, Helena Williams, Tamara Beeler, and father: George S. Snihurowycz.

Sophie was preceded in death by her mother: Mary, nephew: Andrew Conley, Siblings: Jeanette Stroup, Natalia Dossett, and George Snihurowycz.

A Celebration of Life will take place on December 4, 2022, from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Highland Barn at 5118 S 1000W, Rensselaer, Indiana
