Shirley Ann Hanewich

82 year old, Shirley Ann Hanewich of Wheatfield, passed away March 17, 2019.

On October 22, 1936, Shirley was born to Everett and Mazy (Cline) Young in Leiters Ford, Indiana. On January 17, 1954, in Kniman, Indiana, Shirley married the love of her life, Pete Hanewich. Shirley worked as a custodian for the Kankakee Valley School Corporation for 30+ Years. She was a member of the Kniman United Methodist Church. She loved to watch the Chicago Bulls.

Shirley is survived by her children: David (Linda) Hanewich, Donna (Bill) Nannenga, Dorene (Kevin) Wynkoop, and Dan (Laura) Hanewich, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, and brother: Richard (Tootie) Young.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband: Pete, her parents: Everett & Mazy, 2 sisters: Bonnie & Margaret, and 3 brothers: Ernie, Laverne, & Gerald.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Shirley will take place at the funeral home on Friday at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Patterson. Graveside services will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Weston Cemetery, Rensselaer, Indiana.
