Sarah Bukur, 36, of Wheatfield, tragically passed away in her home on March 26, 2023 as a result of a senseless act of domestic violence.
On October 10, 1986, Sarah was born to Mark and Sheila (Woudema) Jabaay in Rensselear, Indiana. Sarah attended a Kankakee Valley High School and received her Phlebotomy Certificate from Ivy Tech in 2012. She worked at Apple Bees in Portage for years, and most recently, Yesteryears Meats in DeMotte. Sarah was a kind and loving soul. She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh that could fill a room. In her spare time, Sarah loved to sew and make quilts. She also enjoyed gardening, camping, and being outdoors.
Sarah will be greatly missed by her loving children: Stephanie Huemmerich, and Max Bukur; parents: Mark and Sheila Jabaay; brothers: Michael Jabaay Matthew Jabaay; sister-in-laws: Nicole Jabaay and Regina Jabaay; Stacy Huemmerich and her son: Travis, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Sarah was preceded in death by her: brother: David L. Jabaay, aunt: Barbara Jabaay, uncle: Jeffrey Woudema, Grandparents: Sherman ‘Glen’ Woudema, and Geraldine Woudema, Nelson and Ann Jabaay.

Sarah always brought joy and laughter wherever she went. We hope you will join us to share a favorite memory or story, and remember the wonderful mother, sister, daughter, and friend who is greatly missed.
