Sara Marie Hogan

70 year old, Sara Marie Hogan, of Rensselaer, passed away July 4, 2010.

On December 29, 1939, Sara was born to Rueben and Virginia (nee: Bailey) Patton.  Sara attended Wheatfield High School. She married Gilbert L. Hogan on March 6, 1987. Sara was a waitress for various restaurants and loved to play bingo.

Sara is survived by her children: Johnny (Vickie) Hopkins, Jimmie (Yvonne) Hopkins, Scott (Tammy) Hopkins, and Lisa Hopkins, 12 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings: Nancy (Bob) Ward, Carol Anderson, Joyce (Mike) Hansen, Judy (Bill) Mehay, Melvine (Mark) Grover, Linda (Bill) McCarty, and Norman (Betty) Patton.

Sara is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Hopkins, sons: Harvey Hopkins, and Steven Hopkins, sister: Charlene Patton, brothers: James D. Arnett, and Larry Patton.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 4:00 until 7:00 (EST) p.m. at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St. Wheatfield, Indiana. Services will be held on July 7, 2010, Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Independence Cemetery.
