Sandra E. Allee

Sandra E. Allee, 76, of Rensselaer, passed away on February 20, 2025 at her home with her loving family around her.

On May 18, 1948, Sandy was born to Kenneth and Christine (Sipkema) Goetz, in Rensselaer, Indiana. Sandy was a beloved wife and mother who served her community as a registered nurse for over 40 years, eventually holding respected leadership and teaching positions in the emergency department of Jasper County Hospital and the Rensselaer Care Center. Finally, she was a respected home health care nurse working in the Lafayette, IN and surrounding areas for a decade. Sandy was a natural care giver who was always concerned with helping, supporting and comforting others, always ready to listen and give advice, and always asking for ways she could help or care for someone in need. Sandy was full of love for her family - even when close to the end, some of her last words were asking to make sure that her husband and son were OK.

Sandy loved animals and spent her healthier retirement days caring for and playing with the family pets, feeding and watching wild life outside, cooking and baking delicious food for her family, celebrating holidays and birthdays, listening to music, reading the bible / Christian literature and watching TV shows and movies with her husband and son.

Sandy was preceded by her parents Kenneth and Christine Goetz, her son Dan Allee and her brother Glen Goetz.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband, Laverne "Bud" Allee, her loving son, Aaron S. Allee, sister-in-law Joan Cunningham, cousins Warren Bovenkerk and Carrol Wireman, niece Michelle Peo, numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews and the kitties she showered with love and affection even as her health declined. No one could ever ask for a better wife, mother, or friend. She will be loved, missed and thought of every day.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00am until 11:00am on February 27, 2025, at the Boersma Funeral Home located at 90 E. Grove St, Wheatfield, IN, 46392. A graveside service will follow at the Weston Cemetery in Rensselaer.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
