Ruth J. Pedersen

97 year old, Ruth J. Pedersen, of Wheatfield, passed away June 14, 2023, at her home with her loving family around her.

On November 5, 1925, Ruth was born in Kristiansund, Norway to Ole Edvard Fjellet Hovde and Helge Johanne (Rasmussen) Hovde. Ruth married Peder Lauritz Pedersen, on July 2, 1949 in Norway. She attended Faith Lutheran Church, DeMotte, Indiana. They immigrated in 1963, settling in Utah, then moving to Indiana in 1989. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, camping. She never turned down a game of Skip-Bo, Ludo or Tripoly. She was an avid basketball fan too.

Ruth is survived by her loving family: children: Per Heige (Eva Fries) Pedersen, and Heidi Johanne (Dick) Jarvis, 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband: Peder Pedersen, sons: Bjorn Hovde Pedersen, Gunnar Alf Pedersen, and Tor Ole Pedersen, great-granddaughter: Emma, and her siblings.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Church, DeMotte. Services for Ruth will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brett Satkowiak officiating. Interment will follow at the Cemetery of the Resurrection.
