Robin Cates

57 year old, Robin Cates, of South Bend formerly of DeMotte, passed away March 10, 2020.

On March 15, 1962, Robin was born in Rossville, Georgia to William E. Cates and Barbara (Schaefer) Cates-O’Brien. He attended Kankakee Valley High School, and then worked in construction as a carpenter.

Robin is survived by his mother: Barbara O’Brien, son: Jacob Cates, siblings: Ron (Jill) Cates, Don Cates, Cathy Ferguson, Mark Cates, Martin ‘Skeeter’ (Theresa ‘Pat’) O’Brien, and Marie (Nathan) Nuss.

Robin was preceded in death by his father: William E. Cates, Step-father: Martin O’Brien, Grandparents: George & Grace Schaefer

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020, at Grace Fellowship Church, DeMotte with services for Robin to be held at 2:00 p.m. and Pastor Tim Hester officiating.

Per Robin’s wishes cremation will take place.

Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, has been entrusted with these arrangements.
