Robert L. Sipkema

Robert L. Sipkema, 67, of Rensselaer, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 12, 2020 at Franciscan (St. Elizabeth) East Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana.

Bob was born to Robert S. and Carol J. (Bultema) Sipkema in Rensselaer, Indiana on July 23, 1953. On September 21, 1973, Bob married the love of his life, Sandi (Kelderhouse) Sipkema, who survives.  Bob and Sandi have 2 daughters, Carolanne Sipkema Hart and Bobbi Best.  They have 6 grandchildren: Thomas Best, Alli Hart, Charity Best, Sandi Hart, Buddy Hart and Jordan Best. He is also survived by his siblings: Simon (Kathy) Sipkema, Rhonda (Rich) Koblinski, Ralph (Marianne) Sipkema, Randy (Nancy) Sipkema and Susan (Greg) Miller.

Bob loved his brothers and sisters in Christ and considered them family.  He loved to teach both children and adults about the things he was passionate about.  Over the years he taught Sunday School, vacation bible school, drove the church bus and volunteered with the 4-H rabbit project.

He also loved to share his knowledge about his hobbies: hunting, fishing and raising show rabbits.  He was thankful to have been born in the United States of American and was extremely patriotic. He was an amazing storyteller and loved to read.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at Parr Church on Saturday, October 17, 2020, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.  with services immediately following officiated by Pastor Randall Gann.  Interment will follow at the Osborne Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parr Church.
