Robert A Forbes

75 year old, Robert ‘Bob’ A. Forbes, of Wheatfield, passed away at his home on January 27, 2020 with his loving family around him.

On August 3, 1944, in Roseland, Indiana, Rob was born to Robert E. and Jean (Garrison) Forbes. He was a commercial roofer for Local #26, out of Merrillville, Indiana. Rob married Shirley Kantor in Munster, Indiana on November 18, 1978. He loved to fish, hunt, and go camping. He especially enjoyed cheating at Monopoly when playing with family.

Rob is survived by his wife: Shirley, daughters: Tracey (Doug) Kent, Kristine (David) Fratt, Jennifer (Chad) Plummer, Julie Forbes & Angie Hoyes, 13 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, brother: William ‘Bill’ (Jackie) Forbes, sister: Sue (David) Naylor, and faithful companions: Fred and the late ‘Molly’.

Rob was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Kniman United Methodist Church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 (noon) on Saturday, February 8, 2020. A Celebration of Life service will take place at the church at noon, with Pastor Dave Patterson officiating. There will be a luncheon at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kniman United Methodist Church and the family.
