Robert E. Berg

97 year old, Robert E. Berg of DeMotte, passed away December 5, 2018.

On February 4, 1921, Bob was born to Anton and Marion (Schmidt) Berg in Youngstown, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater. Bob was a bricklayer by trade and enjoyed working for himself. He retired in 1987. He married Betty Miedema-Van Vlymen.

Robert is survived by his wife: Betty, and her children: Jacquelyn (Dennis) Getz, Barbara Van Vlymen, Douglas (Corrie) Van Vlymen, ‘Drew’ (Margaret) Van Vlymen, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are brothers: Anton Jr. (Gwen) Berg and Harold (Lois) Berg.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Per Robert’s wishes cremation will take place and interment will follow on January 5, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Holland Cemetery, DeMotte, Indiana.
