Richard 'Dick' Parker

72 year old, Richard ‘Dick’ Parker of Wheatfield, passed away March 25, 2018.

On June 21, 1945, in Valparaiso, Dick was born to Damon and Betty (Brown) Parker. He graduated from Wheatfield High School in 1963. He was the Post Master at the Wheatfield Post Office for 38 years, a member of the Wheatfield Son’s of the American Legion Post #406 for 33 years. He loved attending Kankakee Valley Sports and was the keeper of the official scorebook for over 40 years, going fishing, and especially golfing.

Dick is survived by his children: Jackie (Brett) Garrison-Sanders, Rick Parker, Jennifer (Scott) Liston, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, siblings: Judy Jackson, Roger (Deb) Parker, and Randy (Cathy) Parker.

Dick was preceded in death by his wife: Carol, great-granddaughter: Emma, son-in-law: Jim Garrison, and daughter-in-law: Lana Parker.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Dick will take place at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018 interment will follow at the Wheatfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wheatfield Son’s of American Legion Post #406.
