Rev. George Halsted

92 year old, Rev. George Halsted, of Wheatfield, passed away July 9, 2012.

On March 29, 1920, George was born to George and Claudea (Myers) Halsted in Peekskill, New York. George married the love of his life, Arlene E. Scherzer, on February 7, 1953 in Freeland, MI. George was a Lutheran Minister and Salesman.

George is survived by his two daughters: Debra Ann Halsted and Sandra Lea (Brian) Scott, two grandchildren and brother: Charles P. (Mildred) Halsted.

George was preceded in death by his loving wife: Arlene, and his parents.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12:00 (noon) until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield. Services will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Woodley officiating.

Per George’s wishes cremation will follow services.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association.
