84-year-old Rae D. Cummins of DeMotte passed away on February 27, 2006 at the Oak Grove Care Center in DeMotte. Rae was born in Williamsport Indiana on January 9, 1922 to Robert W. and Mary Francis (nee: House) Cummins. He was educated in the Hebron school system. Rae served in the U.S. Army during WW II and was in the Pacific Theater. Rae returned home and on December 10, 1947 he was married to Ella Fae Barker. Rae enjoyed people and you could always find a smile on his face and a word to the wise when it came to building something. In Rae’s working years you would find him behind the counter at Kaper’s lumberyard in DeMotte. Rae is survived by his wife Ella Fae, Daughter Linda (Ed.) Gibson , 2 Granddaughters Diana (Jerry) Kelley, Valerie (Kevin) Eenigenburg, 2-Great Grandchildren Kyle and Rhea Eenigenburg. Friends may call on Thursday March 2 2006 from 4 until 8 PM CST at the Boersma Funeral Home 90 East Grove Wheatfield. Services for Rae will be at the Boersma Funeral on Friday March 3, 2006 at 10 AM CST with Pastor Larry Saunders officiating. Interment will follow at the DeMotte Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the DeMotte United Methodist Church or Oak Grove.
