Phillip Jonkman

89 year old, Phillip Jonkman of Wheatfield, passed away June 24, 2012.

On August 18, 1922, Phillip was born to Christopher and Minnie (Vorst) Jonkman in Corsica, South Dakota. On February 14, 1946, he married the love of his life: Viola Schoon in Roselawn, Indiana. Phillip enjoyed farming and was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of DeMotte.

Phillip is survived by his wife: Viola, children: Nancy (Robert) Smith, Roy (Ruth Ann) Jonkman, Betty (Edward) Kosta, Vernon (Donna Jean) Jonkman, Theodore (Jennifer) Jonkman, 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, and sister: Jean Bierma.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Theodore, Neal, and Raymond.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church of DeMotte. Services for Phillip will take place at the church on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (noon), with Pastor Laryn Zoerhof officiating. Interment will take place at the Holland Cemetery.
