79 year old, Paul J. Pavot, of LaPorte, passed away October 30, 2023 with his loving family around him.
On September 26, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, Paul was born to Paul Pavot and Josephine (Korniak) Pavot-Tanchala. He was a Wheatfield High School graduate. He married the love of his life, Renetta Wisniewski, in Hammond, Indiana on May 13, 1989. Paul was an insurance broker, car salesman, and at one time a butcher for IGA. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Special Forces which was formed in Okinawa, Japan, and also was disbanded in Okinawa, Japan. Paul’s military experience included, Expert with the M14 & M16, National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Paul enjoyed photography and running in marathons. Paul was a member of the Wheatfield American Legion Post #406.
Paul is survived by his wife: Renetta, children: Robert Pavot, Maria (Terry) Eck, Debra (Michael) Bowlin, Richard (Tanja) Webber, Christopher (Laura) Webber, 18 grandchildren, 3+ great-grandchildren, siblings: Kathy (Dave) Bierma, William (Pam) Pavot and many nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his father: Paul Pavot, mother: Josephine Pavot-Tanchala, and step-father: Steve Tanchala.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Prayer Service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Parkinson Foundation or Wounded Warriors.
Military Interment will take place at Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, Mississippi in December.
