Pat Sherwood

72 year old, Patrick ‘Pat’ D. Sherwood, of Wheatfield, passed away May 5, 2022, at Northwest Health Porter campus.

 

Pat, was born on December 4, 1949, in Gary, Indiana, to Lloyd and Betty (Stifle) Sherwood. He graduated from Munster high school, and attended college at Purdue University for Tech Graphics. He was a millwright and a graphic designer. Patrick served in the U.S. Navy, on an aircraft carrier during Vietnam.

 

He enjoyed painting, sculpting, and drawing. He loved outdoor activities and had a book published about campfires stories. Pat was an avid hunter, fisherman. He built Halloween displays at Tippecanoe State Park. His special car was ‘The Pink Lady’ a ’57 Oldsmobile. Pat was also a Boy Scout Master for many years.

 

Pat is survived by his wife: Martha, children: Shawn M. (Rosa) Sherwood, Samantha (Thomas) Puskac, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild, siblings: Lloyd (Rosa) Sherwood, Rick (Cheryl) Sherwood, Terry (Geri) Sherwood, and Bonnie (Scott) Kerr.

 

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son: Shawn Patrick Sherwood.

 

Per Pat’s wishes cremation will take place.

 

A Celebration of Life will take place on May 19, 2022 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.

Services for Pat will take place at 4:00 p.m. with Military Honors.
