Nancy Bovenkerk

Nancy Bovenkerk, 70 year old, of DeMotte, Indiana went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2018.

Nancy was born on September 29, 1947, in Valparaiso, Indiana to Wilmer and Anna Mae (Moolenaar) Kooy. Nancy was a lifelong resident of DeMotte and graduated from DeMotte High School in 1965. She attended International College in Ft. Wayne. After graduation, she was office manager for office manager for Dr. E. R. Beaver in Rensselaer. In 1976, she became office manager of Fieldhouse Ford in DeMotte, where she worked for 37 years, retiring in 2013. Nancy married Wayne (Calvin) Bovenkerk on October 24, 1987 in Illinois.

Nancy was a member of the American Reformed Church in DeMotte and of the church’s fellowship circle. Nancy was an avid fan of the K.V. Girls basketball team, the K.V. Boys basketball team, as well as, being a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs.

Nancy is survived by her husband: Wayne ‘Calvin’, children: Pamela (Rick) Owen, step-son: Brad Bovenkerk, step-daughter: April (David) Gonzales, 6 grandchildren: Brianna, Kyle, Derrick, and Sarah Owen, step-grandchildren: Isabella and Miranda Gonzales, and sister: Joyce (George) Gourko.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at American Reformed Church, DeMotte, Indiana. Services for Nancy will take place at the church at noon with Rev. Troy Nanninga officiating. Interment will follow at the Holland Cemetery.
