Michael 'Big Mike' Hart

Michael D. Hart, 63 years old, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 26, 2010 at VNA Hospice with his loving family around him.

On October 7, 1946, Mike was born to Marion and Harriet (nee: Punter) Hart in Valparaiso, Indiana. Mike graduated from DeMotte High School and married Marilyn Foster on August 30, 1969. Mike worked for Kaper’s Lumber for 30 years. He directed the DeMotte Girls ASA Softball League, Volunteer Asst. KV High School Softball Team for 16 years, and was also the vice-president for the Senior League at Sandy Pines. He was a member of the Wheatfield Church of Christ.

Mike is survived by his wife: Marilyn, daughters: Amy (Mark) Osterhout, and Mindy Hart, granddaughter: Anna Mikaela, and brothers: Dave Hart and James Hart.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Edward K. and sisters: Helen Bair, and Rebecca Sult.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, July 29, 2010 from 2:00 until 8:00 pm (CST) at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Mike will be held at the Wheatfield Church of Christ on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 10:00 am (CST) with Ray Crowder officiating. Interment will take place in the DeMotte Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Wheatfield Church of Christ, Shults-Lewis Children’s Home, VNA Hospice, and KVHS Girls’ Softball.
