Merle G. Cooper

77 year old, Merle G. Cooper of DeMotte, passed away April 27, 2013.

On December 10, 1935, Merle was born in Wheatfield, Indiana to Niles V. and Ruby Belle (nee: Graham) Cooper.   On May 14, 1955 Merle married Norma Smith in Valparaiso, Indiana. Merle worked as a millwright at Indiana General for 30 years. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Roselawn.

Merle is survived by his loving wife: Norma, children: Merle (Tamela) Cooper, Doug Cooper, Chuck Cooper, Kathy Cooper, & Rodney Cooper, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Darrell Cooper, Paul (Jenny) Cooper, Gerald (Linda) Cooper, Larry (Vivian) Cooper, Tony (Polly) Cooper, Leonard Peters, Fred (Marcy) Cooper, Nila Schultz and Joyce Northcutt.

Merle was preceded in death by his parents: Niles & Ruby, siblings: Howard Cooper, Charles Cooper, Dale Cooper, Richard Peters, Lois Stinnett, Ida Fancher, Vivian Cox, Sharon Vaugh, Marlen Cooper, and Wilma Cooper.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Roselawn. Services for Merle will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Joel Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in the DeMotte Cemetery.
