Melvin Sampson

63 year old, Melvin E. Sampson, of Rensselaer passed away at his home with his loving family around him on February 20, 2008.

On July 26, 1944, Melvin was born to the late Louis Sampson and Belva (nee: Ness) Sampson of Michell, South Dakota. Melvin attended Mitchell High School. He was in the Air Force.

Melvin was a Boilermaker with Local #374 for 34 years.

He married Sharion Nichols on October 22, 1992, who survives along with Pam & Donnie Cole, Jay & Stacy Sampson, Phillip Ellenburg, Talara Ellenburg, Dan & Jill Fraley, Debbie & Jeff Holm-Hansen, Amy Skeens, Danny Bishop, and Randy Bishop, along with 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Wayne Louis Sampson.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, February 24, 2008, from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. (CST) at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. At 7:00 P.M. a Masonic Service will take place.

Funeral services for Melvin E. Sampson will take place at the Boersma Funeral Home on Monday, February 25, 2008, at 10:00 A.M. (CST) with Pastor Thomas Lovely officiating. Interment will take place at the Independence Cemetery in Medaryville with Military Graveside Rites.
