Maudora 'Momma Jay' Foresta

72 year old, Maudora Jane (Denton) Foresta, ‘Momma Jay’ passed away on February 1, 2024, with loving family at her side.

Jay was born on July 19, 1951, in Kankakee, Illinois, to Viron and Naomi (Purnell) Denton. She loved thunderstorms, walking in the rain, baby ducks, classic country music, two stepping to the ‘Cotton-Eye-Joe’, the rodeo, cowboys, and their pockets.

Jay liked to fly and imagine exotic far away places. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, scrabble, cards, and adored her birds. She also enjoyed NASCAR, true crime, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show. She was honest to a fault, always stood up for those she loved and wore a pair of hot pants like no one else.

Jay opened her home to family and friends in need of shelter, a meal, life advise, or a warm bed. She had big beautiful blue eyes, a kind heart, and welcoming arms. Jay had a few great loves in her life, but for her love was not a victory march, it was a cold and broken Hallelujah.

Her greatest wish was to be a mom. Her faith was strong, her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you and from her lips, she drew the Hallelujah.

Jay leaves behind her beloved daughter: Tiffany (Jerry) Taylor, and grandchildren: Dallas, Piper, Taidghin, Natalia and Ronnie

She leaves behind her son: Austin, who is the greatest love of her life, her daughter-in-law: Tabatha, and her grandson Damien who with dignity and grace nurtured her in her final days.

As Jay moves toward the Holy Dove and stands before the Lord with nothing on her tongue but Hallelujah she will run into the arms of her beloved mother: Naomi, her father: Viron Denton, her sisters, Jean, and Janet, her brothers: Tom Denton, Larry (Sandy) Denton, and Terry Denton.

She also leaves behind her oldest sister Pat Miracle, who read books to her under the water tower and guided her though the years with her big sister advice. Her favorite niece Kathy whose life will forever be changed by her loss.

As well as numerous adored nieces and nephews.

A private family viewing will take place on Friday, February 2, 2024, and a Celebration of Life, on Sunday February 4, 2024 in Rensselaer, Indiana.

The family would like to thank George Ade and Haven Hospice.

Memorials may be made to the Valley Wick Parrot Rescue in her memory.
