Lora Lee Bapple

63 year old, Lora Lee Bapple, of Wheatfield, passed away April 9, 2018, with her loving family around her.

On May 15, 1954, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, Lora was born to Morry Alfred Lund Jr. and Phyllis Madeline (Sandall) Lund. Lora graduated from Crown Point High School. She married the love of her life, Austin David Bapple on December 9, 1970 at Holy Name. Lora was Austin’s caregiver for 10 years, a homemaker for 47 years, and a security guard for Apollo Security at NIPSCO in Wheatfield for 4 years. She was a member of Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church in Wheatfield.

Lora is survived by her husband: Austin; children: Shelley (Dave) Eagle, Rachael Bapple (Doyle Oxley), Sarah (Jerry) Fraley; mother: Phyllis Lund, grandchildren: Jared & Jessica Whitcher, Raymond & Sam Thomas, Annie, Logan, & Natalie Fraley, siblings: Sherry (Richard) Seef, Lois (Chuck) Seng, Susan (Nick) Yekich, Sandy (Matt) Bapple.

Lora was preceded in death by her father: Morry Alfred Lund.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church, Wheatfield, with Father Alejandro M. Paternoster and Father Paul Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Riley’s Children’s Hospital or the family.
