Linda L. Calhoon

71 year old, Linda L. Calhoon of Hebron passed away April 16, 2023 at home with loving family around her.  She bravely fought cancer for over 30 years. Her fierce determination and strong spirit will be missed by all those who knew her.

Linda was born on July 7, 1951 in Gary, Indiana to William “Bill” and Blanche (Wilson) Shepard who preceded her in death.   She was a graduate of Hebron High School and married the love of her life, John E. Calhoon, on May 29, 1979, in Valparaiso, Indiana.  Linda was a Special Education school bus driver for several years and enjoyed the connection she had with the students. She also served on the Hebron Cemetery Board for several years.  She loved to read, sew, bake, do puzzles and be outdoors. 

Linda is survived by her husband: John, son: William “Bill” Calhoon, four step-children and several step-grandchildren, siblings: Larry (Diane) Shepard and William Shepard along with her two nieces and a nephew.  

In lieu of flowers Linda would prefer memorials be made to VNA Hospice and Hebron Lion’s Club.

Following cremation the family will hold a private graveside service per her wishes.
