Lester D. Burger

81 year old, Lester D. Burger of Wheatfield passed away June 7, 2015 at his home.

On September 8, 1933 Lester was born in Hammond, Indiana to Lester and Mabel (Jackson) Burger. Lester married Mary Stewart on October 26, 1951, in Valparaiso, Indiana. Lester was a Carpenter through the Local #1485 in LaPorte for 55 years. He was also a laborer for 10 years prior to becoming a carpenter. Lester was a Lion’s Club member and an avid Kankakee Valley Kougar Fan. He received an award for being KV’s #1 fan.

Lester is survived by his loving family: wife: Mary, children: Rebecca Krug, Patricia (John) Greiger, Virginia Burger, Timothy Burger, and Shannon (Blake) Bailey & Ashleigh (Don) Witt, 6 grandchildren and 12+ great-grandchildren.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Lester will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.  Graveside services will take place on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wheatfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
