Ham Radio Operator KA9EDR, Leo C. Crumrine 82 years old, of Wheatfield, passed away February 15, 2012.
On April 24, 1929, Leo was born to Francis (Neb) & Laura Crumrine in Chicago, Illinois.
Leo married Rosemary Conway on December 23, 1950, in Chicago. Leo worked for General American Transportation Corporation for many years as a supervisor in the steel shop that made railroad cars, the company later became GATX, until he retired in1987, but the company hired him back as a consultant for many years. Leo served in the Air Force during Korean War as a Weather Observer. Leo was a member of Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church of Wheatfield, a Ham Radio Operator, he loved Woodworking. Leo also loved attending the men’s coffee club in DeMotte.
Leo is survived by his sons: Paul Richard (June) Crumrine and Scott Charles (Susan) Crumrine, one grandson: Paul David (Diana) Crumrine.
Leo was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosemary, parents, and two brothers Frank & Richard Crumrine.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Leo will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church of Wheatfield. Interment will take place at Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church of Wheatfield.
