Lela M. Carder

93 year old, Lela M. Carder of Paxton, Illinois passed away June 10, 2017 at Golden Living  Center, Knox, Indiana, with her loving family around her.

On August 28, 1923, Lela was born to Frank and Ressie (McElwee) Kirby in Sidney, Illinois. Lela graduated from Sidney High School. She married the love of her life, Ralph J. Carder, on February 21, 1942. Lela worked as a cashier for Strack & Van Til’s in Highland. Lela enjoyed painting as a hobby.

Lela is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Skeeter) Hart, 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Lela was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Carder, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Baier Family Funeral Service, 406 E Pells St., Paxton, Illinois. Interment will be at the Rankin Union Cemetery, Rankin, Illinois.

Boersma Funeral Home, Wheatfield has been entrusted with the Indiana arrangements.
