Larry L. Hunter

75 year old, Larry L. Hunter of San Pierre, passed away February 2, 2018, at his home.

On March 13, 1942, Larry was born in LaPorte, Indiana to Horace G. and Eva Mae (Carpenter) Hunter. Larry graduated from Tefft High School in 1960. Larry married the love of his life, Pat Thomas on December 10, 1960, in Malden, Indiana. Larry worked as a carpenter and was an Indiana Conservation Officer for IDNR from 1971 to 1999, having been a Sargent, Lieutenant as well as a field officer. He regularly attended the Wheatfield 1st  Baptist Church. Larry loved to ice fish and his daily trips through the woods on his golf cart with his dog Wally. He also raised numerous bluebirds and purple martins.

Larry is survived by his loving wife: Pat, daughter: Tara (Kevin) Taylor, 3 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his son: Keaton Hunter, parents: Horace & Eva Hunter, and brother: Babe Hunter.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Larry will take place at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. (noon) with Pastor Robin Gear officiating. Internment will follow at the Wheatfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Wheatfield 1st Baptist Church or the Hunter’s Educational Fund.
