Larry L. Hessling

Larry L. Hessling, 73 years old, of Wheatfield, passed away January 6, 2016.

Larry was born on September 21, 1942, in Rensselaer, Indiana. Larry graduated from Hebron High School. He served in the U.S. Marines, and worked as a steel worker at LTV Steel for 40 years. On March 25, 1962, he married the love of his life Judy Stewart in Wheatfield, Indiana. He owned and operated Hessling’s Christmas Trees for over 25 years. He attended Laurel Church in Merrillville, pastored by Lawrence & Victoria Raftery.

Larry is survived by his loving wife: Judy, 2 daughters: Laura (David) Tidd, and Julie (Jim) Clark, 3 grandsons: Jordan (Sarah) Clark, Andrew (Suky) Blank and Mark Blank, 3 great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Jazzlynn & Judah Clark, 6 step-grandchildren: Joshua, Joel, Jason, Jonathan, Jennifer & Jessica Tidd, 2 sisters: Vicki (Jerry) Lowman, and Teresa Cervik, and 1 brother: Jerry Hessling.

Preceded in death by his parents: Betty & Jay Hessling, and Archie & Florence Reed, son-in-law: John L Blank III, sister-in-law: Sandy Hessling.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Lawrence Raftery officiating. Interment will take place at the Wheatfield Cemetery.
