Karen Jean Spencer

54 year old, Karen Jean Spencer of Gallatin, Tennessee formerly of Jasper County, Indiana passed away July 9, 2016.

On August 18, 1961 Karen was born to Jerry Kammer and Doris (Cameron) Wood in East Chicago, Indiana. Karen was an Assistant Manager at Walmart for 20+ years. Karen married Mason Spencer on February 20, 1998 in Rensselaer, Indiana. Karen was a Die Hard Bears Football and Hoosier Basketball fan, she loved reading, yard work, gardening, and especially loved penguins.

Karen is survived by her husband: Mason, children: Stephanie Kearney, Jennifer Kearney, Travis Spencer, Michael (Tami) Spencer, and Jessica (Giovani) Herrera, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, dad: Jim Wood, siblings: Kim Kammer, James (Leslie) Wood, Kathleen (Martin) Kazmierski, Tracy (Ray) Sabol.

Karen was preceded in death by her mother: Doris Wood, father: Jerry (Judy) Kammer, brother: Jay Wood, and daughter: Shelby N. Spencer.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a 4:00 p.m. Rosary, on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, July 16, 2016 with Father Paul Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Cemetery, Wheatfield.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Children’s Miracle Network and Riley’s Children Hsopital.
