Judith Siegrist

86 year old, Judith ‘Judy’ Kay Siegrist, of Rensselaer, passed away September 4, 2024, at her home with her family around her.

On July 25, 1938, Judy was born to John and Pauline (Miller) Newcome in Rensselaer, Indiana. She graduated from Rensselaer High School, class of 1956. On June 17, 1961, Judy married the love of her life, LaVern Paul Siegrist, in Rensselaer, Indiana. She owned Mayflower Movers. Judy was a member of Rensselaer VFW 1279, the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post 29, and a sister of the Sigma Alpha Sorority. She liked to play bridge and euchre, and made the best vegetable soup. Judy was happiest loving on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and driving them around in her 1962 Nova.

Judy is survived by her children: Tammy (Tim Eldridge) McEwan, Steve (Pat McQueen) Siegrist, grandchildren: Kristin (David) Marquez, Shelby (McKinley) McElroy, Tori (Chris) Myers, Karli Siegrist, great-grandchildren: Milah McElroy, Mckinley McElroy, Quinton Myers, 2 on the way and sister: Linda (Ron) Hekkema.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, husband: LaVern Paul, sister: Luanne Arihood, and son-in-law: Jeff McEwan.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post 29.

Per Judy’s wishes cremation will take place.

A private family burial at the Smith Cemetery will follow at a later date.
