85 year old, Johnie Wireman Sr., passed away Friday, May 12, 2006. On November 15, 1920, he was born to Daniel Boone Wireman and Sarah Jane (nee: Oliver) Wireman in Waldo, Kentucky. He attended school in Magoffin Kentucky. On August 5, 1939 he married Silvana Campbell (who preceded him), in Rensselaer, Indiana. Johnie worked as a Carpenter for local 1005, for 30 years. He retired in 1975. On September 22, 1979, he married Eva Laubaugh (who also preceded him) in Toto, Indiana. Johnie was a member of the United Baptist Church of Gillam Township.
Surviving are his children: Stoney & Betty Wireman, Darlene & Therman Stone, Joyce & Arthur Oliver, Ernest Wireman, Brenda & Gary Prater, Essie & Larry Clemons, Rosie & Mike Fornal, 26 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, 1 sister Goldie Bailey and 1 brother Ernest “Buck” Wireman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, Silvana and Eva, 2 infants, 3 sons, and 1 daughter.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday, May 15, 2006 at Boersma Funeral Home. Services for Johnie will be held at the United Baptist Church of Gillam Township at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 with Pastor John Miller and Ministers Chris Prater and Gordon Burger officiating. Interment will be at the Sutton Cemetery in Medaryville.
