John W Oliver

80 year old, John W. Oliver Sr., of Wheatfield, passed away April 15, 2023 at his home, with his family around him.

On November 17, 1942, John was born to William ‘Willie’ Oliver and Versa (Whitaker) Oliver-Fields, in Rensselaer, Indiana. John graduated from Medaryville High School. He married the love of his life, Patty (Williams) Oliver, on May 20, 1967, in Medaryville, Indiana. John was a U.S. Marine.

John is survived by his loving family: wife: Patty, children: Michelle Oliver-Young, John ‘Johnny’ (Rachel) Oliver, 8 grandchildren: James A. (Amanda) Young, Megan (Trent) Messer, Mikayla (Jonnyve) Jimenez, Gage Meeks, Macy (Seth) Green, Jeremy Young, Autumn Oliver, and Aubrie Oliver, 6 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Lola (David) Klima, Stan (Ruth) Oliver, and Sheila Busenbark.

John was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers: Robert Oliver, Gregory Oliver, and Michael Oliver.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services will take place Friday evening at 6:00 p.m., with Pastor Tom Dewlen officiating.

Graveside Military Services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Kankakee Township Cemetery.
