John Kurzeja

62-year-old, John Eugene Kurzeja, of DeMotte, passed away on December 28, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

On July 6, 1957, John was born to Eugene and Phyllis (Collins) Kurzeja in Chicago, Illinois. He married the love of his life, Debra Fancher, on July 11, 1980 in Calumet City, Illinois. John worked as an industrial electrician for NIPSCO. He was a fan of Lionel trains, fixin’ things, his dogs, and he especially adored his family.

John is survived by his loving wife: Debra, children: Johnny Kurzeja, Christine (Josh Brewer) Kurzeja and 3 grandchildren: Anthony, J.R., and Dakota Rose.

John is preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law Edward Fancher, and his sister-in-law Faye Fancher.

Per John’s wishes, cremation will take place.

A Celebration of Life will be held for John at 2:00 p.m. on February 8, 2020 at the Kniman Bar & Grill, 4766 W. 900 N., Wheatfield, IN 46392.
