John C Hensley

72 year old, John C. Hensley, of Rensselaer, passed away February 15, 2022.

On November 20, 1949, John was born to Farish and Eliza (Trusty) Hensley in Rensselaer, Indiana. He married the love of his life, Phyllis Cross, on December 9, 1967, at Eveston Risner’s house in DeMotte, Indiana. He was self-employed and owned Hensley Sewer & Drain, and Seal Coating. John’s greatest joy was the fellowship of doing work for other people for the enjoyment.

John is survived by his loving family, wife: Phyllis, daughters: Deanna (Robert) Graves, Theresa (Michael Nelson) Wilson, Julie Wireman, 6 grandchildren: Christina (Travis) Mattocks, Tyler (Leslie) Wilson, Tyson (Brandy) Wilson, Nathan Graves, Allison (Jeremy) Conley, Bailey Mathew, and 10 great-grandchildren: Bryer, Lilly, Natalie, Brynlee, Emery, Hadley, Delanie, Sophia, Lilah, Adalyn, Maci, 2 sisters, and of course Jacob (aka: Jake) the dog.

John was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022, at the Faith Pentecostal Church of God, Rensselaer, Indiana. Services for John will take place at the church on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jeremy Eisele officiating, interment will follow at Weston Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Faith Pentecostal Church of Rensselaer, and/or a Good Samaritan Food Pantry of Rensselaer.
