Jerry Koster

71 year old, Jerry Koster of Wheatfield passed away on February 17, 2016.

On October 13, 1944, Jerry was born to John M. and Ruby G. (Myers) Koster in Valparaiso, Indiana. He graduated from DeMotte High School and married the love of his life Susie Stalbaum on July 3, 1964 at the Methodist Church Chapel in Rensselaer, Indiana. Jerry worked for McGill Bearing, drove bus for Kankakee Valley Schools for over 30 years, and mowed for Aaron’s Lawn Care. Jerry loved playing dart ball for Sorrowful Mother’s league. He was a member of the Wheatfield Son’s of the American Legion. Jerry attended Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church in Wheatfield.

Jerry is survived by his loving family: wife: Susie, daughters: Debbie (Doug) Miller, Sheri (Brett) White, Valerie (Norm) Brown, grandchildren: Lance, Rhett, Leilah Miller, Brittany & Trevor White, Kyle & Chloe Brown, sisters: Connie (Connie) Flick, Janice (Mike) Brummett, and Jennifer (Kenneth) DeKock.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents: John & Ruby Koster, mother and father-in-law: Barney & Geraldine Stalbaum, brother-in-law: Daniel Stalbaum, nephew: Christopher Brummett and niece: Terri Raider.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Boersma Funeral Home, Wheatfield. Rosary will take place at 3:00 p.m. Mass will take place on February 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church with Father Paul Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Birthright in Rensselaer.
