James Sherman Jordan Sr

83 year old, James Sherman Jordan Sr., of Wheatfield, formerly of Hobart and Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away February 21, 2022.

On October 18, 1938, James was born to Leonard and Oma (Powell) Jordan in Elkton, Kentucky. He lived most of his life in the Hobart and Valparaiso areas. He worked as a millwright at U.S. Steel for 45+ years. He liked to fish, hunt, fix anything, garden, and walk a lot observing nature.  He especially loved his children, grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren.

James is survived by his children: James (Marcie) Jordan Jr., Kathy Jordan, David (Elizabeth) Jordan, Danette (Danny) Hebert, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, siblings: Leonard ‘Junior’ (Lois) Jordan, Samuel ‘Sam’ Jordan, Martha Boley, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his wife: Mack Dillion, daughter: Martina Durbin, son: Stephen Jordan, 3 grandchildren: Jason Durbin, Ted Durbin, and Brent Hebert, his parents, 4 sisters, and 4 brothers.

Per James’ wishes cremation will take place.

March 6, 2022 at the Mount Tabor Baptist Church, 35 France Road, Elkton, Kentucky 42220.

Luncheon will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon)

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Brother Fred Harrison

Friends and family are welcome to join us for Sunday School at 10:00 a.m., and Worship Service at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
