James 'J.B.' Howard

88 year old, James ‘JB’ Howard, of Wheatfield, passed away September 9, 2023.

On March 7, 1935, JB was born to James and Ellar (Stepp) Howard in Sublett, Kentucky. He married the love of his life, Alberta Whitaker, on March 8, 1957, in Wheatfield, Indiana. JB was a factory worker for IG Technology, which was Indiana General in Valparaiso, Indiana. JB served on the Executive Board for the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church of God. He enjoyed creating woodworking and craft projects.

JB, is survived by his children: Forrest ‘Raymond’ (Tammy) Miller, Roberta ‘Lynn’ (Norm) Creekmur, Kenneth (Terri) Miller, Michael (Karen) Howard, Darlene (Dennis) Patton, 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 7 + great-great-grandchildren, and siblings: Delores Dobson, and Alanna (Eugene) Ralph.

JB was preceded in death by his wife: Alberta, siblings: Vera Mae Wireman, Jack Howard, Paul Howard, Charlotte Gilliam, & Ray Howard, and an infant sister.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. Services will take place on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the church. Graveside services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the Wheatfield Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church for the building fund.
