James R. Black

78 year old, James R. Black, of Kniman, passed away April 18, 2020 at his home.

On July 5, 1941, James was born in Hobart, Indiana to Harold and Minnie (Schultz) Black. James married the love of his life, Phyllis Herre, in 1962, in DeMotte, Indiana. James worked as a laborer for Local #81, where he started working in 1971. James loved his job. He also, loved his family, cars, and had a beautiful yard. James attended St. John’s Lutheran Church.

James is survived by his son: Kevin J. Black, and brother: Kenneth ‘Ken’ Black.

James was preceded in death by his wife: Phyllis, daughter: Connie, and brother: Don Black.

A modified visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church, Parr, Indiana. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Mueller officiating, at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Parr, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested for St. John’s Lutheran Church.
