Ivan G. Robbins

90 year old, Ivan G. Robbins, of Wheatfield, passed away May 23, 2010.

On November 1, 1919, Ivan was born to Milford and Bessie (nee: Engle) Robbins in Salem, Indiana. Ivan was in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and was discharged on October 16, 1939. Ivan attended Tefft schools, worked for the Studebaker Corporation in South Bend, and owned Robbin’s TV Sales and Repair.

Ivan married Coral Ann Stephenson on January 31, 1940 by Rev. L. G. Lyon.

Ivan was a member of the Wheatfield Fire Department, served as the Mayor of Wheatfield for a period of time, and had a street named after him.

Ivan is survived by his sister, Donna Allen, and brother, Terry L. Robbins Sr.

Ivan was preceded in death by his wife, daughter, step-daughter, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Ivan will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, with Pastor Roger Sculley officiating. Interment will take place at the Wheatfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials maybe made to the family.
