Henry 'Hank' James Starkey Jr.

63 year old, Henry ‘Hank’ James Starkey Jr. of Kniman, passed away July 31, 2009, at the Jesse Brown VA in Chicago, Il.

On September 1, 1945, Hank was born to Henry James & Ruth (nee: Orsburn) Starkey Sr. in Rensselaer, Indiana. Hank was a lifetime area resident who attended DeMotte Schools. Hank spent 4 years in the armed services as a Marine. He married Gloria Hanawich on March 24, 2002, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He loved driving trucks and worked for Ozinga’s until he retired.

Surviving are his wife: Gloria, children: Henry J. Starkey III and his wife, Tina; Kenny Starkey, Tracy Starkey, and David Hicks, and 9 grandchildren. Also, surviving are sisters: Trisha, Kim Starkey, and Kara (Jeff) Spencer.

Hank was preceded in death by parents, brother Kirby, and sister Mary Beth Kremke.

Per Hank’s wishes he will be cremated and a Military Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
