30 year old, Gordon D. Van Baren, of Wheatfield/Tefft, passed away November 14, 2022, from a farming accident.
On October 6, 1992, Gordon was born to Dale R. and Gina (Walstra) Van Baren, in Crown Point, Indiana. Gordon worked as a mechanic at Heartland Farms Service. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, frog gigging, four-wheeling, and bonfires with friends. He was always tinkering on his truck(S).
Gordon is survived by his loving family: parents: Dale & Gina, girlfriend: Shelby Sanders, siblings: Matthew Van Baren, Joshua Van Baren, Andrew Van Baren, Mateo Van Baren, Gabe Van Baren, Ryan Van Baren, Grandparents: Lita Van Baren, Roger Walstra (Cindy Green-Smith) Marilyn McCune, his dogs: Diesel 2 & Diesel 3 and Uncles: Travis (Olivia) Walstra, Brett (Megan) Walstra, and cousins.
Gordon was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Garry W. Van Baren Sr., and Papa Ron McCune, and great-grandparents: Walstra, Van Kanegan, Scholten, and Van Baren, uncle: Garry W. Van Baren Jr., and cousin: Christopher Van Baren.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. (CST) on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Community Church Roselawn, 10498 N 450 W, DeMotte, Indiana.
Graveside services will take place at 10:00 a.m. (CST) on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Holland Cemetery with Pastor Jim Busscher officiating.
Services for Gordon will take place at 11:00 a.m. (CST) on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Community Church Roselawn, with Pastor Jim Busscher officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations be made in his honor to the DeMotte Christian Schools.
