78 year old, Georgia Alice Czerniak, of Wheatfield, passed away October 25, 2023.

 

On April 24, 1945, in Gary, Indiana, Georgia was born to Donald and Ercelle (Barker) Detrick. She graduated from Hobart Schools. Georgia was an EMT. She married David Czerniak on April 1, 1984, in Rensselaer, Indiana. She was a member of the Wheatfield American Legion Aux. Post #406. Georgia enjoyed quilting. She especially loved her grandchildren, and fur-baby Chase.

 

Georgia is survived by her children: Donald (Sherry) Beres, Eugene (Stacey) Beres Jr., Michael (Bridget) Beres, Dave Czerniak, Kimberly Young, son-in-law: Scott Crawford, 13 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, and sister: Rose Bengston.

 

Georgia was preceded in death by her: husband: David Czerniak, daughter: Kim Crawford, brother: Franklin, and her parents: Donald & Ercelle.

 

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m., on Monday, October 30, 2023, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E Grove St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Georgia will take place on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Bill Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, Indiana.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wheatfield American Legion Post #406.
