71 year old, Genevieve ‘Genny’ Misch, of Wheatfield, passed away March 4, 2023 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Genny was born on August 20, 1951, to Theodore J. and Catherine (Flitter) Koselke, in Valparaiso, Indiana. Genny married the love of her life, Joseph A. Misch, on June 30, 1973 at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church, Wheatfield, Indiana. Genny loved being a farmer’s wife, working for Horn Chocolate Company in Kouts, Huth-Thompson in Rensselaer as a secretary, and a bank teller for State Bank of Rensselaer, First of America, National City, DeMotte State Bank. She especially loved being a mother and grandmother.
Genny was a member of: Sorrowful Mother’s Altar Rosary Sodality, and Parish Council. She taught and helped with CCD, Cub & Boy Scouts, Catholic Youth Organization, Relay for Life. Genny also helped with the planning commission & served on the board for Oak Grove.
Genny is survived by her loving family children: Tim (Alina) Misch, Kristine (Mike) Smith, Jeffrey (Samantha) Misch, grandchildren: Bailey Wiltfang, Lilly Misch, Logan Smith, Finn Smith, Henry Misch, Adam Misch, and Walter Misch, siblings: Theodore (Betty) Koselke, Judith Connelly, and several nieces and nephews.
Genny was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Joe, infant son: Drew, granddaughter Kiley Smith, and sister: Mary Koselke.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Boersma Funeral Home, Rosary will take place at 3:00 p.m.
Per Genny’s wishes cremation will take place and then Mass will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Michael McKinney and Fr. Dan Gartland officiating, with interment to follow at the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
