Genevieve 'Zicky' Abbring

87 year old, Genevieve P. “Zicky” Abbring, of DeMotte, passed away March 18, 2015 with her loving family around her.

On December 22, 1927 Genevieve was born to Ira H. and Hattie (Voss) Banninga in Muskegon, Michigan. On August 8, 1947, in Michigan, Genevieve married the love of her life, Norman T. Abbring. Genevieve was a member of American Reformed Church where she was active in the Hope Circle, and other ladies’ groups. She worked at Walstra’s Trucking and Fertilizer for 30+ years as a bookkeeper/front office manager.

Genevieve is survived by her sons: Donald T. (JoAnn) Abbring, Tim (Deb) Abbring, seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, siblings: sister Marva Stevens and brother: Paul (Mary) Banninga.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Norm, her parents, and one sister, Lenora Hesselink.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 2:00 to 5 :00 p.m. at the American Reformed Church, DeMotte, Indiana.  Services for Genevieve will take place at 5:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Dan Jelsma officiating. Graveside interment will take place at the DeMotte Cemetery on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Swart Family Mission Fund or The Gideons.
