Frederick R Ahrens

78 year old, Frederick R. Ahrens, of Wheatfield passed away February 20, 2023.

Fred was born on May 24, 1944, to Frederick and Alice (Pritchard) Ahrens in Gary, Indiana. He was baptized into the Christian faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart, Indiana. Fred graduated from Hobart High School. Fred married the love of his life, Jeannette Davis, on April 24, 1999, in Reno, Nevada. Fred was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in DeMotte, Indiana. He worked as a project manager for Walsh Construction and Skillman Company, and retired in 2012.

Fred is survived by his wife: Jeannette, children: Steven (Lynn) Ahrens, Scott (Jennifer) Ahrens, Susan (Travis) Koors, Jodene (Matthew) Fletcher, 6 grandchildren, and brother: Daniel (Sherry) Ahrens.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Patty O’Conner.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Church, DeMotte, Indiana. Services for Fred will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the church, with Pastor Brett Satkowiak officiating. Interment at Faith Lutheran Cemetery will follow.

Per Fred’s wishes cremation will take place.
